The Children's Fire

The Children's Fire is an opportunity for the small folk in our community to enjoy some independant time around the fire. These sessions will be open to children aged 4-11 and will be two hours in length.

They will enjoy a seasonal story, games and songs each week in a beautiful natural space. They will spend time out on the earth and under the sky, in a small mixed age group, held by an expereinced outdoor facilitator and mentor. We will work together, bringing in a real sense of community and care through our work and play.

There will be a focus on ecological literacy, with orientation, natural awareness and plant knowledge.

We will work with foraging, folklore, fire skills and lots of natural crafting. From cooking wild food on the fire to lighting the fire together, the children will learn the skills and craft that allow them to grow up confident and competent on the land. I see it like learning a second language - when telling the time by the sun, knowing the trees and their medicines and lighting a fire is practiced regularly from young it becomes second nature as we grow.

Each child will be met where they are at and held with grace and a touch of magic, allowing them to fall in love with the earth and grow with a deep sense of belonging and connection to others and the natural world.

Sessions are £15 and bookable a term at a term to foster a community amongst the children.
