Would you like to tend a Mother's Fire?
Growing into leadership in your community, weaving a village of connection and rewilding whilst earning a living around your mothering?
Do you already (or are you called to) work with the land, traditional knowledge and inspire others into connection with the natural world?
We need women to participate in the reweaving of the ancient ways of village living and the world needs us, now more than ever.
The Mother's Fire is a gathering for women and children of all ages, birth up to 18 where we practice nature connected culture.
So what happens at one of these circles?
We gather around a fire, under the sky and on the earth. Singing together, drinking herbal tea and connecting with old ways. We practice nature connection, play games, enjoy seasonal meditations, tell stories, laugh a lot and weave together - learning natural crafts/skills, foraging and preparing wild foods or herbal medicine. We celebrate the natural festivals together and we honor our ancestors.
Most importantly we find deep belonging in a community of women, of and held by the earth. Our children are held within this circle. Our children experience the modelling of the village, forming bonds and friendships with many women, spending time in a mentoring culture with mixed age group and of course vital life skills like foraging and how to use an axe.
When you hold your own fires, you will choose the times and days they happen - you can weave a way of working that works for you, for example you may choose to hold one, two or five a week. We celebrate and encourage working with your children present.
The need, and demand for these spaces is growing rapidly. Requests from across the land are coming thick and fast.
Lo and behold - The Leadership Training!
The vision is to have a Mother's Fire in every community and we need a thriving circle of facilitators to make this happen.
What are we offering?
A comprehensive training encompassing leadership, facilitation and natural skills.
- The opportunity to hold your own Mother's Fires under The Village brand and support to grow your own local enterprise, bringing in income and creating community.
- Participation in a movement of women leading the rewilding of motherhood and restoration of the village across the country.
Are you in?! What happens next?
Once you join you will be sent a comprehensive Mother's Fire handbook which will include all you need to begin your circles (finding and setting up your space, kit list, insurance, marketing and filling your circles, and nature based wisdom such as core routines, seasonal living, how to facilitate play on earth and under sky all year around. and creating mentoring culture).
This will allow you to begin setting the space for your circles. You will be invited to a private online facilitators group where Lucy and other experienced facilitators will be on hand to answer questions and explore ideas.
You will then attend one of our Leadership Circles, which is a 3 day long immersion into 'village' living on the land. Here you will drum and sing around the fire, be in ceremony and sacred space whilst relaxing into your circle of sisters and learning powerful leadership facilitation skills. You will come away strong, supported and confident of how to create the magic of The Mother's Fire.
We will explore the role of fire keeper and our own relationship to the fire. In addition to meeting fire and apprenticing through firecraft and tending, each woman will undertake an initiation journey with lighting and tending her own ceremonial fire.
After you have attended our leadership training you will be given a physical and digital copy of our year long Mother's Fire curriculum -
If you are able to attend without children, we recommend that you do that on this occasion.
Children are however, welcome here if this would prevent you from attending, and we will provide extra hands to hold them.
There will be delicious organic food provided. You bring a shelter!
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for women who feel called to weave in the wild, the ancient and the elements into modern family life. Women with the desire to light a spark of natural curiosity and inspiration in their communities.
You may be an outdoor instructor already, you may be love with plants, or natural crafts or have experience working with children and families. You may have none of this! You do not need any previous training, any special skills or a particular background to join us.
